John,

I have found this project very initeresting as well. While I don't know if this would fit your criteria or not, you miigt consider Janet-Jones Parker who among other things was one of the first to establish a search firm specifically focused on bringing women into the executive suite and later on played a key role in rejuvinating the AESC.

hi john... i'm still loving the project - thanks for your tireless efforts on this. as you and i have exchanged messages on this matter... i am sitting back still wondering who the key influencers are in public sector HR space... and then i'm also now thinking about who the best minds are in the academic space. they are such interesting areas that get little notice from the everyday practitioner, i think... but the work is so interesting and so difficult that i can't help but to be a bit curious as to who do we need to pay attention to...

maybe, hopefully, others have suggestions?

John,

I like the series "Top 100 Influencers". I am anxious to find out who are the other 67 influencers are as I have found out most I knew of but several were new to me.

I would echo Peter's comments on George Bradt regarding Onboarding. I would also recommend Howard Stevens from the HRChally group as not only an advocate of assessments but as a strong proponent of sales education degrees/programs within colleges.

My only other suggestion would be to reveal 2 per week (Monday and Friday). Otherwise it may start to drag over time.

Hi John,

I've enjoyed the series, especially as you dig down into the many different facets of influence. It's great to see a real diversity of influencers, genders, ages, roles and personal styles.

I have noticed the list is very North American. Possibly the next two-thirds of influencers will be from outside the part of the world where UFOs only seem to land in films (with the exception of District 9).

Maybe your intention is for the list to be local, but in my books there are influencers in all pockets of the world, including non-English speaking countries. Technology has made the world a smaller place, in some ways borderless. I value both local influence and global influence.

I like Gerry's idea above.

Might also be interesting (before people step off the stage in all these recruiting niches you are exploring) to build a robust timeline from say 1911 (the publication of Scientific Management by FW Taylor to 2011) on the emergence of various recruiting events, technologies, people, etc.

Hi John,
I have a suggestion for you: "The Onboarder" George Bradt.
I've had the pleasure of interviewing George on several occasions (there's a two part interview on Total Picture Radio this week) discussing his new book, Onboarding: How to Get Your New Employees Up to Speed in Half the Time. This is a must read (in my opinion), for hiring managers. George is the co-author of The New Leader's 100-Day Action Plan: How to Take Charge, Build Your Team, and Get Immediate Results -- any executive moving into a new role (or currently in transition) would find this book a tremendous resource. George is founder and managing director of PrimeGenesis a firm focused on senior executive onboarding. He owns the onboarding space.

John, thank you so much for this series. It's been great to get to know the people you've profiled. Although I've met (and interviewed) many on your list, I know them so much better, in a more personal and profound way, having read articles.

One more suggestion: Dr. Karen Stephenson - she's an expert in organizational anthropology -- trusted networks -- which gets at a lot of what your developing with the Influencer Series. These people do not exist on an org chart.

Also, you realize this IS a book... Collins, Wiley...
