Thanks Paul. It's a South Jersey look. :)
Don't quit your NZ membership. The current efforts are really under the guidance of the Amerincan National Standards Institute (ANSI) with SHRM as the equivalent of a sponsoring org but the ANSI rules have been followed and the participants currently are 170 folks that represent just about every facet of our profession and every stakeholder. Eventually a more international group may look to develop broader standards but, in all cases, consensus wil have to be achieved. Stay tuned- NZ could be the deciding vote.

Gerry is a true inspiration to the recruiting industry. I have enjoyed every bit of time I have had to spend with him over the years and always come any with a fresh perspective and new ideas each time we talk. He is constant reminder to me as the voice of the candidate.

Great to see you on the list Gerry - Congrats! When I met you at the tweet-up before June's Social Recruiting Summit I could tell you were passionate (animated even) about the industry. You were the first person I've ever met from New Jersey. I was wondering when we were talking if the trade mark hat was a jerseyian thing and what most people wear in your state. I also witnessed first hand your sharp, inquiring mind. But what impressed me most was that you were genuinely interested in what was happening in the profession in other parts of the world - eg in my great country over 7,000 miles away - where our culture and issues are similar in some respects, but very different in others. I'm not sure about SHRM "overseeing" HR standards across the globe. I'm all for lifting the standards locally and globally, but I wonder why that needs to be driven (imposed?) from a US-based membership association per se. Maybe I should join SHRM immediately and quit my membership with the HR Institute of New Zealand. I didn't like the coffee in the US, maybe we could get the NZ coffee association to lift the standards in the US? Nonetheless, I'm certain Gerry that you will draw upon all your diplomacy and listening skills and rise admirably to the challenge. I don't mind 'Gerry world domination', not US domination though.
